My Kurdish Identity

       By Hndren

I am a Kurd from the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and there are several things that make me Kurdish. First of all, I wear Kurdish clothes on special occasions like Nawroz, which is the Kurdish New year. Secondly, I come from a big tribe called Berzinji, and I speak different Kurdish languages like Sorany and Badeny. Kurdistan has a diverse culture, and there are many different religions here such as Christianity, Ezidism, and Islam. However, most people in Kurdistan are Sunni Muslims like me. Finally, I love Kurdish food, so I usually eat traditional food like rice inside vegetables (dolma). That is all about me.
