The Unfortunate Situation in Iraq

The recent incidents in Iraq have severely affected every sector in the country. Therefore, I completely agree that the current situation in Iraq is problematic, which is not beneficial for anyone who wants to live a peaceful life.
First of all, economic issues make the situation in Iraq complicated. The government does not seem to have any financial strategies to benefit from the enormous economic potential in sources like natural resources and agricultural land that exist throughout Iraq and Kurdistan. Kurdistan is located in one of the richest agricultural places in the world, but unfortunately almost every product is imported from other countries. In addition, Iraq is an oil rich country, but because there is a huge amount of corruption in the government, it has not been able to improve the economy.
The second reason why the situation is problematic is because of the conflicts among the people over everything such as religion, borders, politics, and different nationalities. Unfortunately, the conflicts have become part of the culture where people fight each other, which will most likely affect the next generation who might follow their parents’ example. For instance, religious clashes put our community in a very fragile situation. In fact, religion should be considered as a means to make peaceful relationships among people. However, both religious people and politicians have used religion to generate conflicts amongst different nationalities in the country.
To sum up, Iraq and its citizens are affected by the current situation. There are many reasons that make the situation complicated like having a weak economic system and the local conflicts between people in the country. If peace is not implemented by people themselves and especially the authorities, the situation will not improve.
